The Random Nature of Reality | Silicone, 2016
Pigeons, bread, plastic cover and bird droppings, all cast in silicone.
For a long time I have been using chance when composing objects mimicking nature. I’ve tried a million ways,
like pouring things out randomly or doing it with my eyes closed. What never worked for me was placing the birds deliberately on the oor, trying to compose them like a sculptor. The patterns through which things in nature (insects, animals, plants) behave and grow are fascinating, from the perspective of my own logical world, and serve as an inspiration for creating sculptures (trying to make them like they would have happened there).
