A series of installations made out of insects like butterflies, beetles and grasshoppers that have been cast in moulds of lead or silicon. They’re put on a wire and formed into clouds that have the ability to take on different kinds of shapes. Due to the setting of the lights the clouds of insects appear to be flying. This makes the sculpture vacillate between being an object and a drawing. The idea first came to me when I saw a number of insects lying on the windowsill in my studio.
