A public work at a school in the south west of Sweden. To Fly consists out of five different objects skirted around, in and outside of the school. All the furniture originally belongs to the school; they kindly lent them to me for casting. On your way to the school you pass a flying carpet, resting against the side of a hill, the furniture all have objects connected to flying characteristics attached to them, like an umbrella or balloons. The idea of flying objects came from a project that the kids in the school had been working with; in the ceiling of the classroom, they had hung paper carpets. The project has taken place in cooperation with the kids. Together we did a workshop in the spring of 2007 where the kids made flying objects out of things they had found in and around the school.
